What I hate is the entire movie of Titanic completely ruins it’s own central theme. It’s supposed to be a love story about how the rich snobby girl falls in love with the gutter rat and learns there’s more to life than her own selfish whims.
But she doesn’t. A lot of people forget the movie takes place in an old lady’s flashback. Rose, as an old lady, gets herself flown out to this guys treasure-hunting ship at great expense, even bringing her dog and all her personal belongings, which is rude regardless. Then she makes this guy listen to her whole life story, knowing the whole time he’s looking for a particular treasure THAT’S IN HER POCKET. IT’S IN HER POCKET RIGHT NOW, AND SHE’S MAKING HIM LISTEN TO HER LIFE’S STORY. WHAT A RUDE BITCH. BUT THEN IT GETS WORSE!!! After he politely listens to the whole thing, after having flown her and all her possessions and dog to his ship at great expense because she supposedly knows where to find the treasure he wants… what does she do? She doesn’t tell him she’s got the treasure, and throws that shit overboard, ensuring it’s lost FOREVER. WHAT AN OLD, SELFISH WHORE. SHE LEARNED ABSOLUTELY JACK SHIT ABOUT RESPECTING OTHER PEOPLE.

Genius, pure genius.

Watching this makes me feels like I’m back in high school again…plus it’s giving me a flashback to that “question dump” conversation my Mom and I had with our clueless white neighbor who was acting like she was studying for a “What Do Black People Do and What Do They Get Offended By?” Test.

10 Things 90s Kids Will Have To Explain To Their Children

imremembering:

Source: Thought Catalog

“Lisa Frank is not the name of a woman…it’s the name of a movement, a culture, a way of living. It is a theory, a concept, a belief in something greater than yourself. It is the belief that all girls are entitled to dolphins covered with rainbows, jewel-encrusted frogs, and unicorns in acid-trip colors hugging each other. It is the ideology that no notebook is complete until it literally hurts your eyes to look at from so much color saturation. It is the hope that no school supply, no matter how insignificant, will be left un-bedazzled. It is the knowledge that your eraser cap, and that of your granddaughter’s, and her granddaughter’s after her, will not be some boring little nub–it will be a diamond covered with butterflies in a rainbow of colors. It is the dream of a better tomorrow.”

LMFAO!!! More gems of nostalgia at the link.
